A.G. Mohan & Svastha Yoga

I thought it best to write a little note about the training course I will be doing in January 2012. It will be held in Mahabalipuram, about 45km South of Chennai. The course is conducted by Svastha Yoga and taught by its founders Indra and A.G. Mohan. I came to know of Svastha Yoga through the books of A.G. Mohan. Last year I read his book on the life and teachings of Krishnamacharya. I was particularly impressed by A.G. Mohan‘s recounting of his time with Krishnamachrya and what he learnt from the great acharya. An appendix to the book had photographs of A.G. Mohan demonstrating a Warrior Vinyasa, which is remarkable in its effectiveness and adaptability. It is like this that I learnt of this great teacher who studied with Krishnamacharya for 18 years. He has two previous books; one on his method and the other on yoga therapy. I have read the former in preparation for the course and appreciate his philosophy of yoga as personal reintegration. His teaching emphasizes individuality and adaptability.  I am looking forward to meeting A.G. Mohan and taking the course.
